Dear MANS Member Schools, Staff, Colleagues, and Friends,
Equity in funding. It is something we consistently bring up to legislators in Lansing as they evaluate proposals that help fund education initiatives in Michigan. We are currently bound by the constraints of Article VIII Section 2 of our Michigan constitution insofar as it relates to assisting a student to attend a nonpublic school. We firmly believe there is room for fairness in funding when we are discussing student safety, funding for extracurricular activities and even reimbursing teachers for purchasing school supplies.
We need you to make our voice stronger. Please register for the MANS 2020 Public Policy Day today. MANS staff will make legislative appointments for you and provide you with all of the information you need to address issues of great importance to faith-based schools. We look forward to seeing you on March 12th in Lansing.
The Michigan Equitable Service Collaborative (MESC) has a number of professional learning opportunities available to all Michigan non-public school teachers and administrators. These opportunities are based on results from a professional learning needs assessment and have been reviewed by the MESC steering committee. Take some time to review the MESC section of MANS Notes to see which opportunities would best fit your needs.
Thank you for all you do for Michigan’s students and their families.
