Dear MANS Member Schools, Staff, Colleagues, and Friends:

Congratulations on another successful school year. MANS members have worked hard over the last six months actively engaging with legislators to advocate for their schools. Before you leave for a well-deserved summer break we ask you one last time to call or email your State Representative and State Senator and encourage them to support these two items in the budget process:

1. Including funding in this year’s budget to compensate non-public schools for complying with state health and safety mandates.
2. Including funding for non-public schools to participate in a grant competition for Robotics and other STEM related programs.

Be sure to file your school’s 152(b) reimbursement claim before June 30th. It is critical that nonpublic schools do this to show the legislature and the Governor that there is a need to compensate schools for complying with state health and safety mandates.

We hope to see you this summer at one or all of the valuable professional learning opportunities offered by MANS including MANS Law Day, Creating Pathways and any or all of the Michigan Equitable Services Collaborative (MESC) sponsored events.

We also look forward to seeing you this fall in Traverse City for the MANS Administrators’ Conference – Building Leadership for Learning. Please do not delay in registering for what promises a worthwhile and inspiring gathering of faith-based school administrators. It takes place October 16-18, 2019 at the Grand Traverse Resort.

The MANS staff would like to wish you a joyful, restful, fun and blessed Summer Break!

Sincerely,
Brian Broderick
MANS Executive Director
