Plan to join fellow administrators to refresh, renew and reconnect at Crystal Mountain Resort in beautiful northern Michigan. Educational leaders from around the state will convene and share ways to continue school improvement as they examine the issues facing Michigan's faith-based schools. The conference promises to be a demanding schedule of professional stimulation, as well a time for reflection and fellowship.

Thursday October 9 – 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Keynote Speaker Mike Schmoker will lead participants in learning precisely where to focus their precious time, efforts and resources to ensure that all students are prepared for the 21st century demands of college, careers and citizenship. You will leave this session knowing both what to do and how to do it, in ways that will yield immediate and significant results.
Thursday afternoon enjoy a multitude of activity options during free time including a golf scramble, wine-tasting, a salsa cooking class, or just exploring the many features at Crystal Mountain. For dinner, you’ll have the option to dine onsite at the Thistle restaurant, or pre-purchase a delicious buffet meal, or sample an area bistro (it’s a short drive west to Frankfort on Lake Michigan or north to Beulah-Benzonia). Save room for dessert as we gather again at 8 p.m. for an Ice Cream Social with games and prize drawings.
Friday October 10 – 9:00 a.m. - noon
James Marsh, Director of the Van Lunen Center for Executive Management in Christian Schools, joins us to help equip school administrators to grapple with the various leadership challenges they confront in our rapidly changing world. Tapping his extensive experience serving for 34 years as a head of school and working with educational leaders across the country, Jim will help participants sharpen their capacity to uphold and strengthen the mission and sustainability of their school communities while creating a culture of empowerment throughout the school. The conference concludes with a "Celebration of Praise and Thanksgiving," then lunch and grand prize drawings at noon.
The MANS Board of Trustees encourages principals to identify staff on a leadership track at your school and bring those future leaders with you to the event. Please note that the MANS member registration fee is $310 and the fee for additional registrants from the same school is reduced to $210. The lodging at the resort is beautifully designed, nestled at the foot of Crystal Mountain. There are traditional hotel rooms and suites, plus a variety of cottages, condos and even homes that have kitchens, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, decks, recreation areas, etc. We strongly encourage sharing lodging with colleagues to truly experience this remarkable setting. Pricing is also optimized when accommodations are shared. Please note that when making your lodging arrangements, it's best to inquire about all of the options when you contact the resort.
