MANS Notes – September 2019

Dear MANS Member Schools, Staff, Colleagues, and Friends

Each fall MANS offers the opportunity for member schools to apply for the MANS Social Justice Grant. This has been a longstanding MANS program that provides teachers resources that can be used to integrate service with classroom instruction. You can find additional information in the “Grants” section below. Please share this opportunity with your staff.

We are getting ready for the 2019 MANS Administrators’ Conference: Building Leadership for Learning on October 16-18, 2019 at the Grand Traverse Resort. We are excited to partner with Learning Forward as we kick off a year long effort to dive deep into effective building-level professional development. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to register for this conference. This time together as school leaders is invaluable. We look forward to seeing you up north in October.

Just a friendly reminder, it is always a good time to invite your Representative or Senator to your school. It is critical that you maintain a relationship with your locally elected officials who serve you in Lansing. MANS staff would be happy to participate in any visits that you are able to plan. Keep the lines of communication open and let them know what a vital role your school plays in the community.
