Executive Director’s Corner

Good Morning,

Some positive news in the 2017-18 budget for nonpublic schools.  The legislature restored $2.5 million in funding for compliance with state health and safety mandates.  Also shared time funding was mostly restored as the legislature added language that places a cap on the amount of money that public school shared time providers can receive for providing services.

It has been a positive year on the legislative front and the credit for that goes to all of our faith-based school administrators, teachers and parents who engaged with their lawmakers and continue to advocate that faith-based schools matter and the children that attend those schools deserve the same rights and benefits as those who attend public schools.

Summer is a great time to connect with your Senators and Representatives.  The 4th of July Parade, community picnics, office hours are all potential opportunities for you to reach out locally and advocate for your students and schools.  Wishing you all a blessed and peaceful 2017 Summer.

Sincerely,
Brian Broderick
