“TRANSFORMING SCHOOL CULTURE” – Dr. Anthony Muhammad |
|
In 2006 award-winning teacher and administrator Dr. Anthony Muhammad founded an educational organization known as New Frontier 21. Dr. Muhammad had observed a void in the field of education in the area of authentic and powerful professional development opportunities for urban and rural educators and wanted to provide real strategies that would empower educators to eliminate the student achievement gap. His progressive approach to leadership has resulted in measurable gains in student achievement, both in academic performance and in decreased disciplinary referrals. This speaker is one of the most sought after educational consultants in North America. As a practitioner of nearly twenty years, Dr. Muhammad has served as a middle school teacher, assistant principal, middle school principal, and high school principal. His tenure as a practitioner has earned him several awards as both teacher and principal. Dr. Muhammad engages participants with his lively sense of humor, thought-provoking insights, and straightforward strategies. From his keen understanding of the middle-school mind to his intimate knowledge of education’s most pressing challenges, Dr. Muhammad offers compelling expertise that will motivate all school staffs at all grade levels. Dr. Muhammad earned his doctorate at Michigan State University, where he also earned his master’s degree in educational administration and bachelor’s degree in international relations. In 2004, he presented at the Oxford Round Table educational conference at the University of Oxford. As a researcher, he has published articles in several publications in both the United States and Canada. Dr. Muhammad is a contributing author to the book The Collaborative Administrator: Working Together as a Professional Learning Community published in 2008. He also authored Transforming School Culture: How to Overcome Staff Division, published in 2009. |
